Powerful Resources from 10 Years of Retreat-Leading Experience

About Darla

There are two things that have made a difference for me more than anything else on my journey to right here.

  1. Alignment. Aligning with my spiritual Truth has created a priceless internal freedom.
  2. Retreats. Connection heals and healing frees. To risk being truly seen, in a retreat community, creates permanent transformation.

Kurt Wright said, “We can only trust that part of ourselves that we have revealed to another person and had validated instead of violated.” This simple statement demonstrates why small, safe-space, truth-based retreats are such powerful tools for empowerment. Once we experience ourselves in a new way, we can’t un-know who we now are. And live retreats create experiences in a way no self-help book (or virtual program, or information-packed big event) ever could.

If you are someone who creates a safe space of non-judgement in which people can share their Truth (or people just tend to tell you stuff), or if you love to dig into the root cause of an issue to shift it at its core, you might a transformational entrepreneur and a powerful retreat leader. Creating Space

Nature abhors a vacuum.   Whenever we create space in our life, it gets filled with something very quickly.  Like the clean surface of my desk!  (It rarely stays that way for long.)  How does knowing this help me live in my sweet spot? Because if we desire to bring...

Practicing Quick Decisions

In Think and Grow Rich, Napoleon Hill talks about his study of successful people in which he recognized that they have a habit of making decisions quickly.  I have been practicing this in recent weeks as I am preparing to move.  I wrote a blog a while back about...

Now, or in 10?

This week I taught a class in my "Power in the Hallways" program on the "Denying" hallway.  This isn't about being in denial, but rather about denying the Truth of who you are - your own greatness - and it involves a lot of waiting, wishing, and hoping.  Waiting for...

Creating the life you want – now.

As I prepare for vacation, I am very excited to be taking a full week off - truly off - with no laptop at hand. I work with people to discover what they really want their life to look like, and take a stand for having what they want in life.  Similarly, I have created...

One foot in front of the other.

Are you putting one foot in front of the other with confidence that you are heading toward a meaningful goal? I spent yesterday cheering on my amazing friend Christy, who completed her second Ironman Louisville.  She completed the race in 15 hours, 21 minutes, and 5...

Action and Feedback – Is Today the Day to Choose?

This week's theme in my life and my client's lives seems to be this:  Action leads to feedback. Sometimes we can't know the absolute right answer for something.  Of course I believe there is no actual "right" answer, but sometimes we can't see even see the best answer...

The Only Way to Find Happiness…

"The only way to find happiness to accept that the way things are is the way things are." - The Cow in the Movie Babe, as quoted in The Art of Possibility First, The Art of Happiness is a fantastic book (by Zander).  Every time I pick it up to read even a little bit,...

Doing the Big Stuff First… and Walking the Talk

OK, confession time... I generally consider myself someone who truly walks the talk.  I do.  There is nothing I challenge my clients on that I haven't done and seen work miracles.  That is what Life & Adventures in the Sweet Spot is all about. Today, well, let me...

You are a gift

Dear you, You are a gift.  You, yes you.  Exactly as you are.  Nothing to change or fix, nothing to do differently. The only thing "wrong" is that you have forgotten that.  You have somehow decided to believe that you are flawed.  That you aren't "all that."  That you...

Wanted: Joy Thieves!

It is funny how quickly people (including myself) can forget that saying... "Comparison is the thief of joy." Just today, I have had several conversations in which clients were grappling with this... "Everytime I see a communication from this person I can't help but...
