Powerful Resources from 10 Years of Retreat-Leading Experience

About Darla

There are two things that have made a difference for me more than anything else on my journey to right here.

  1. Alignment. Aligning with my spiritual Truth has created a priceless internal freedom.
  2. Retreats. Connection heals and healing frees. To risk being truly seen, in a retreat community, creates permanent transformation.

Kurt Wright said, “We can only trust that part of ourselves that we have revealed to another person and had validated instead of violated.” This simple statement demonstrates why small, safe-space, truth-based retreats are such powerful tools for empowerment. Once we experience ourselves in a new way, we can’t un-know who we now are. And live retreats create experiences in a way no self-help book (or virtual program, or information-packed big event) ever could.

If you are someone who creates a safe space of non-judgement in which people can share their Truth (or people just tend to tell you stuff), or if you love to dig into the root cause of an issue to shift it at its core, you might a transformational entrepreneur and a powerful retreat leader. What If Slowing Down Would Speed You Up?

I’m just back from a week in Belize and I’m committed to bringing “Island Time” home with me. Here’s the Truth.  Since DAY 1 in business, my goal in my work has been to stand for a world in which we don’t have to pretend to be someone we’re not to make money and have...

One Big Ass Committed Decision at a Time

I’m all fired up at the moment.  I’ve got insights firing left and right, I am watching my clients grow leaps and bounds as well.  I’m I just crossed 1000 ‘likes’ on Facebook.  (I mean, that must be some sort of ‘fired up’ marker these days, right?) And I love this...

Its all about the platform, baby!

I had dinner with an old friend in New York City. We recalled our early corporate days at Procter & Gamble, a time when more formal clothing was the norm for her, a woman who joined me for dinner in workout clothes. Back then, even running experiments in the pilot...

Your unique brand of value empowers you to say no! Picture yourself in a room filled with clients. You don't have to try to use fancy marketing language in order to impress them, you can just be yourself and they get you. They know they are "your people" and they are...

Saving it for Later

I've noticed a tendency among entrepreneurs to save the good stuff for later. I've been teaching a lot about the difference between a brand message and a marketing campaign message recently, and as I work with people on their ideas that they want to teach or share in...

Love to Love to Love

OK, so the Truth is that I am more happy and in love with life than ever before.  Apparently it shows.  There’s not a day that goes by lately that someone doesn’t point out their observation about this. And guess what?  I love it! 🙂 But here’s the funny part.  If you...

Truth Like a Freight Train

Terrified. I’ve followed my Truth this far, but it’s getting scarier. I’ve outgrown clients, lifestyles, and entire groups of people. Yet it doesn’t stop. I feel bitchy just writing this. Who do I think I am to say I’ve “outgrown” anything? Outgrown, out paced, or...

We've got an epidemic on our hands. It's the waiting game, and it's running rampant among us. This week alone I've surrounded by people's really damn good reasons for waiting. But here's the thing. Every thought and action has an energetic consequence. When we wait in...

Fear, Regret, and Free Stuff

In “Working with the Law” Raymond Holliwell talks about the Law of Receiving.  He talks about giving your substance where it can do most good, and about specific behaviors that would indicate you are out of harmony with the law. One such behavior is delighting in...

Stop the Helping Madness

I sprained my ankle last weekend at an event. I'm not usually one to get injured, and I was highly uncomfortable being wheeled around in a wheelchair (even by the handsome security guard who was enjoying all of the good looking women at the conference!). I did my best...

Is the “Not Enough” Hype Killing Your Profit?

I am the first to say that moving past where you typically stop requires a ‘come to Jesus’ sort of moment.  To decide to change your life will always come with a brief (or sometimes more than brief) moment of panic as you break through your fear. If it doesn’t, you’re...
