Powerful Resources from 10 Years of Retreat-Leading Experience
About Darla
There are two things that have made a difference for me more than anything else on my journey to right here.
- Alignment. Aligning with my spiritual Truth has created a priceless internal freedom.
- Retreats. Connection heals and healing frees. To risk being truly seen, in a retreat community, creates permanent transformation.
Kurt Wright said, “We can only trust that part of ourselves that we have revealed to another person and had validated instead of violated.” This simple statement demonstrates why small, safe-space, truth-based retreats are such powerful tools for empowerment. Once we experience ourselves in a new way, we can’t un-know who we now are. And live retreats create experiences in a way no self-help book (or virtual program, or information-packed big event) ever could.
If you are someone who creates a safe space of non-judgement in which people can share their Truth (or people just tend to tell you stuff), or if you love to dig into the root cause of an issue to shift it at its core, you might a transformational entrepreneur and a powerful retreat leader. Need more Freedom & Profit in your biz?
One of the biggest things I see and hear when connecting with entrepreneurs is that many of them are dissatisfied with their offers, and time and time again they get stuck and fall short of their desired outcomes. Does this sound familiar? What if you instead could...
You Can’t Buy This: Building an Inspired Team

How Do They Listen to You? Getting strategic about the people in your environment.

A Defeat Moratorium – What to Do When You’re 3 Feet From Gold
"One of the most common causes of failure is the habit of quitting when one is overtaken by temporary defeat." ~ Napoleon Hill One of my clients quotes the psychologist Erikson who claims that in adolescence we each need a period of "moratorium" in which we don't make...
Expensive Lessons and Mistake Money
Ever done an exercise to calculate your desired income for your business? I have my own clients do this, and I hope that you’ve done it too. But, here’s the question. Do you cut it so close that you leave no room for error? Do you expect everything to pay out...
Send a Bigger Boat!
It breaks my heart when I talk with entrepreneurs who know they are called to big things, and they are waiting to be hit over the head before they take the steps to make them happen! And they choose to do what I did for years: read books and get advice from people who...
Give Your Substance Where it can Do Most Good
One of the secrets to being an Aligned Entrepreneur I learned in Raymond Holliwell's book Working With the Law, which was recommended reading from my mentor. It struck me immediately but I didn't recognize its power right away until I learned how to harness it. Giving...
Why Not Get Married?
And other great distractors from Truth. It was late 2003 and I was in the middle of a rather large home renovation project and had just left my teaching job to pursue my business for the second time. I use the word "pursue" loosely as it essentially meant writing a...
Your Brand of You
The 3 Things to Consider to Create a Brand in Alignment. As we covered last week, a brand identifies one seller's goods as unique from other sellers. It can also be considered a promise, or the thing that people say about you to others. I believe the biggest...
Is Your Brand Nedestrian?
Branding lessons from the streets. I recently visited the town of Nederland, CO for a music festival, and I was struck by how distinctive the brand of Nederland (a.k.a. “Ned”) really is. Driving into town one can observe the high rate of dreadlocks per capita as well...
Succeeding Beyond Your Heroes is Scary
One of the most detrimental and hard to spot Cycles of Proving I've discovered is this. It boils down to proving you're no better than your parents. And it usually shows up in people who THINK they are proving that they have done better than their parents - this is...
