Powerful Resources from 10 Years of Retreat-Leading Experience

About Darla

There are two things that have made a difference for me more than anything else on my journey to right here.

  1. Alignment. Aligning with my spiritual Truth has created a priceless internal freedom.
  2. Retreats. Connection heals and healing frees. To risk being truly seen, in a retreat community, creates permanent transformation.

Kurt Wright said, “We can only trust that part of ourselves that we have revealed to another person and had validated instead of violated.” This simple statement demonstrates why small, safe-space, truth-based retreats are such powerful tools for empowerment. Once we experience ourselves in a new way, we can’t un-know who we now are. And live retreats create experiences in a way no self-help book (or virtual program, or information-packed big event) ever could.

If you are someone who creates a safe space of non-judgement in which people can share their Truth (or people just tend to tell you stuff), or if you love to dig into the root cause of an issue to shift it at its core, you might a transformational entrepreneur and a powerful retreat leader. Being an Intentional Creator

As you may know, I sponsored an event last week in Washington, DC called SEVEN. I gave out magnets as a gift which said, "It's not what I'm doing, but who I'm being, that matters most.  In 2011, in my business and my life, I am being __________.  The magnets are dry...

Fat Kid

I was a big kid. Really. I weighed almost as much in the 4th grade as I do now, and, well, I was shorter.  (I’m traveling today or I’d post a picture). Because of this, for most of my life I completely overanalyzed everything I put in my mouth.  My mom just wanted the...

When did we stop asking?

The other day I was a bit sick... yes, I admitted it.  It didn't last too long that way! I was watching my favorite "sick day" show, The Price is Right. One of the contestants had brought her son on the show.  He looked like he was about 6 or 7.  She made it to the...

Planned giving – will you help me with ideas?

Who knew a TV show would kick me into gear on something that keeps falling to the bottom of my "to-do" list? In my business, I have donated a little bit of money here and there - some to help 3rd world budding entrepreneurs, and some for inner city classroom supplies...

Make a Decision – Then Make it Right!

One of the best pieces of advice I ever got was from my first coach.  I was considering participating in a training program which would walk me through writing a book.  It was a considerable investment for me at the time, and I was very nervous about it.  And she told...

Seek to Learn What You Currently Need (Only)

I recently attended a little entrepreneurial conference called SHINE.  Just kidding - it's a pretty BIG conference actually.  I had a great time meeting a host of amazing entrepreneurs.  I also learned a thing or two.  But, quite honestly, I ONLY learned a thing or...

Really Scary This Halloween…

Happy Halloween!  The reports on the morning shows today are about all things scary.  Similarly, my Facebook newsfeed is filled with ghosts and goblins, etc.  Which made me think about what we're REALLY afraid of on Halloween, and every day. I sent my clients a card...

Non-Resistance

I have been reading of late about the Law of Non-Resistance.  I have also noticed the theme of moving past resistance coming up with my current coaching clients.  Here's the deal: When we put pressure on ourselves to do what we ultimately want to do, we create...

Escape From the Self Help Aisle

As you know, I moved recently.  And I moved all of my many self help books - heavy.  (OK, I paid someone to carry them...)  I moved them not because I want to read them again, but because I want to remember where I've been and enjoy my freedom from the self help...
