The second key to freedom & clarity is in being irrational… surprised? Einstein said:
“The intuitive mind is a sacred gift and the rational mind its faithful servant. We have created a society that honors the servant and has forgotten the gift.”
Have you ever gotten into an argument (ok, you’re sophisticated – a debate) about the merits of something, and before you know it you find yourself nimbly supporting your point with all kinds of TRUE statements that mean absolutely nothing to you?
The second Key says “Be Irrational.” This is no doubt challenging in the society we have created. So what, exactly, do I mean by this? Stop rationalizing what you do and don’t choose to do – stop rationalizing to yourself and to others. Because the rational mind cannot discern Truth, with a capital “T” (our real, maybe even spiritual Truth – our purpose) we must get comfortable relying on our intuitive mind in order to live a life, which is True for us. When we are coming from our own Truth, the reason or justification doesn’t matter. In fact, we are more confident in our choices when we leave off the reasons and rational explanations. People recognize, using their intuition, when we speak our Truth.
Let’s look at a few examples to help with this…
Do you remember when the earth was flat? Of course, you don’t, yet we all know at one point it was generally concluded as FACT that the world was flat. What, then, is a FACT? While a fact is true, with a small “t,” a fact is simply based on the agreement of society as a whole to accept it as true. You may have heard this said FACTS are nothing more than the False Acceptance of a Certain Temporary Situation. FACTS may make something true, with a small “t,” meaning most people accept them as an explanation because they make sense in their rational mind, but FACTS can never affect your intuitive Truth.
More to come on being irrational… stay tuned! 🙂
